A Avani Arts Initiative (India) será representada por Sumitra Nair.
Sumitra Nair trained as an ethnographic listener with an interest in modes of meaning making. She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology (Hindu College, Delhi University), and masters degrees in Sociology (Delhi School of Economics) and Science and Technology Studies (Virginia Tech). As Programme Director at Avani Arts Initiative, she extend this interest to create a space in the heart of the city of Calicut where the public can engage in art, culture and research, as modes of meaning making for themselves. In a previous life, she had experience in ethnographic research with urban communities, human-technology interfaces, and information management systems.
